add non-linear interpolation in gaps between gpx track segments

I wish you to add non-linear interpolation in gaps between gpx track segments to prevent stairs in velocity graphs

Any chances for importing .tcx files?

It would be great to have .TCX import support on the platform. More and more fitness devices write .TCX logs.

Mistakes in Russian Translation

There are some mistakes in russian translation - sentence from the start page, "Вы можете использовать этот сайт для того, чтобы следить за вашими занятиями и...
Response from the site administrator
tompaton, 11.05.2013
The site translations are contributed by volunteer users using an online tool, see http://gpsloglabs.com/help_translation.html for some further details.

Unfortunately, the translations are difficult to manage as I cannot verify them easily and they also occasionally become out of date as I make changes to the site.

I'm really grateful to the people who have assisted to date and am happy to take any help people are willing to give.

todays run didn't log. I think it would be good to record a dummy log manually, obviously not all the points, but the route, date and time (I have that from watch) so that the distance, tags, notes can be recorded.

Response from the site administrator
tompaton, 08.02.2011
A new page has been added at http://gpsloglabs.com/uploads/manual/ where you can key in stats for activity that wasn't recorded by a GPS logger.

This activity will be included in your goals, reports and other stats wherever possible.

What about to add to 'Home/This week's activity' sums per tag: total time duration, distance?

What about to add to 'Home/This week's activity' sums per tag: total time duration, distance? I did not find where to see the total distance per week. I am able to make my own report per last seven days which is not what I want.
Response from the site administrator
tompaton, 27.01.2011
I've added "Week totals" for tags and places to the bottom right of the "This week's activity" table, and also to the Activity tab of the week calendar page.

Specify the tag at the import

What about possibility to choose the (default) tag for all tracks given by imported .gpx file?
Response from the site administrator
tompaton, 28.01.2011
I want to keep the upload form as simple as I can, so I won't be adding any tag selection options at that point.

However, I have added the ability to set tags for all the segments at once from the tags popup form.

That together with tagging while uploading via email should suffice I hope.

can I manually remove bad datapoints? I have a track that shows 2000 km/h max, and applying a speed limit filter does not help

some datapoints are bad (I was in a ski lift) which skews the speed calculation, could I remove these without having to segment my track?
Response from the site administrator
tompaton, 24.02.2011
If the Speed filter isn't working properly, you may be able to get a better result by increasing the "window" so it discards a few more points on either side of the "spike".

Failing that, or if there is only one or two "spikes", you can use a Time Filter and highlight the "spike" and it will be deleted.

Since it happened in a particular location, you may be also be able to use a Position filter, but that will only work if you didn't ski under the lift as well.

Can i help you to translate GPSLog Labs site to hungarian?

Hi, i'm Gábor from Hungary. Can i help you to translate to my language?
Response from the site administrator
tompaton, 01.06.2011
Yes, help with the translations is greatly appreciated. If you want to translate the site into another language or improve an existing translation, then contact tom@gpsloglabs.com. A rough guide to the process can be found at http://gpsloglabs.com/help_translation.html, it's pretty easy and every little bit of work helps.

Is there a easier way to add places. Now if I add a place manually I'll need to wait the log to be processed to be able to add another place.

Response from the site administrator
tompaton, 11.05.2013
There is an add place page: http://gpsloglabs.com/places/add, but there isn't a direct link to it as usually you'll only need to add places one or two at a time based on a new log you've uploaded.

Adding places directly has a confusing workflow as you must manually reprocess log files that may be affected, so the best/easiest way to do that is via the log file editing page, and if you're trying to add a lot of places, something is likely to be going wrong with the way you're using the site (or you have a crappy logger that's putting all your activity into a single file and that's best fixed with gpsbabel before uploading to GPSLog Labs.)

gravatar as avatar

Response from the site administrator
tompaton, 20.07.2011
Good idea, and easy to implement too.

You now have 3 choices for buddy icons/avatars:
1) Upload your image to GPSLog Labs as before
2) Upload your image to http://gravatar.com/ (and enter the same email address into your GPSLog Labs profile.)
3) Or, let Gravatar automatically generate a nice little unique space-invader avatar automatically for you.

If there are any I've missed that you think should be expandable, let me know.

Response from the site administrator
tompaton, 13.12.2011
I've added a "Delete Selected Logs" button to the "Log Files" tab on the device page (your devices are shown at the bottom of the home page.)

This will let you select as many log files as you like and delete them all in one go. You should be able to sort by filename to quickly find all the unwanted extra uploads.

Colored track line

Color brightness (or tint) means speed or altitude in each point (or segment of track). For example, the segments with highest speed is red, with the lowest is violet. Analogous for altitude. Segment length depends on view scale.
Response from the site administrator
tompaton, 11.10.2013
I've added this now. I'll describe it further in the next blog post, but you'll find a "Speed zones" option in the new Enhance! map menu. This is only available on the activity detail map page at the moment.

(I was in the middle of replying about how this was something I'd been considering but it was difficult when a simple way of doing it occurred to me!)

Nautical units

Would it be possible to display the data in nautical units? Distances in nautical miles and speeds in knots.
Response from the site administrator
tompaton, 11.05.2013
No problem. I've added a "Nautical units" option to the Settings page (http://gpsloglabs.com/profile/).

This will display distances in nautical miles (nmi, 1852 meters), altitudes in feet and speeds in knots.

I've added a Public Catalog page that lets you zoom in on an area of the map and see any shared activity in that area: http://gpsloglabs.com/shared/catalog/

You can flag your shared activity to be "Included in Public Catalog" if you want to allow others to find it on this page.
