Set file datetime when exporting (downloading) a track/log

Currently the file in the zip file is 1/1/1980 12am.

tompaton, 10.11.2013
Fixed, file dates are now set to the current date and time (UTC so how that shows up on your computer, I don't know!)

Download Places as Waypoints in a GPX file

Then I can drop the GPX file on my Garmin fenix watch and they will all show up on the map.
Response from the site administrator
tompaton, 10.11.2013
I've added a download menu on the Places page (http://gpsloglabs.com/places/) that lets you do this now.

Coordinates in Distance Finish Time Predictions plot?

The Distance Finish Time Predictions is pretty useless sinc I cannot read coordination of the cross. The logarithmic scale is not so intuitive. Will be possible to show coordinates (let say beside the plot)?
Response from the site administrator
tompaton, 12.04.2011
The graph now displays the distance/time values of the crosshair position.

i-Blue 747 importing problems

Hi, I am having some problems importing my CSV data from my data logger i-Blue 747. It used to work perfectly before (1 year ago) but now my log files do not seem to be imported. However, I can convert my CSV file with my own copy of GPSBABEL...

I'm not really sure why, but some time since you last used GPSLog Labs and now, the file format has changed. Try creating a new device and uploading the log files to that, the system will find which format works properly.

Places not showing correct number of days

I have several places defined on a couple of logs and they show fine when I view them in maps, logs etc. But when I go to organise & places > view all places. It shows these places in red showing that there is no days for the places. Yet when I...

Email upload has stopped working after 26th May. But works from my phone to another address.

Tracks are failing to get to gpsloglabs - have checked the obvious for broken uploads and no notification is also sent from gpsloglabs - so only assume email key seems to be the same as well.
Response from the site administrator
tompaton, 30.05.2012
Thanks for the heads up. I've fixed it and it should be working properly again now.

The emails you sent have all been processed now, there's no need to send them again and nothing was lost.

can't recognize my logger file

Your site doesn't recognize me log file (iPhone 4GS). It says that it may not content any appropriate data. But this file is recognized by Google maps and gpsies.com (http://www.gpsies.com/map.do?fileId=kygwpsbrjumnaytz) Track file -...

Hi Valentine,

Unfortunately KML is not supported by GPSLog Labs at this time. It's a weird format that every logging app writes differently.

Cyclemeter should be able to export in GPX format which is the appropriate format for transferring GPS data between applications, please give that a go and you'll have better results.

Kind regards,

Tom

GPX import from Polar Protrainer software (Doesn't work, even after running it through gpsbabel)

GPX files generated through Polar Protrainer don't seem to work. GPSbabel can read them and convert them. Converted files still fail to import.
Response from the site administrator
tompaton, 03.10.2012
Sorry, the format detection was rejecting the file as it didn't contain altitude data.

I don't know why Polar Protrainer wouldn't record the altitude, but most of GPSLog Labs will still work without it anyway.

Note that you may have to choose "force checking against all formats" as for some reason, the file is being detected as plain text, not XML.

Manual Segments Editing Doesn't seem to be saving.

Response from the site administrator
tompaton, 09.01.2014
I've fixed a bug that was allowing the selected time range to extend beyond the segment start/finish time, which was preventing it from being saved.

Is possible to download all activities (per tag)? Let say in a bulk mode?

I decided to use Garmin Connect to log my running activities. I would like to migrate my activities stored un GPSLog Labs to Garmin Connect. Firs step is to export activities from GPSLog Labs. Is possible to do it in a bulk mode? I would like...
Response from the site administrator
tompaton, 13.04.2014
You can:

1. Go to your Run tag page
2. Select the Logs tab
3. Click "Select all" link above the table, then check the "select all" checkbox if the box expands out below that to select everything from all the pages.
4. In the blue box at the bottom of the page, select "Original" or "GPX file" in the "Select download format" section and click "Download Selected Logs".

Alternatively, you can easily download all files uploaded to a particular device:

1. On the home page, select your device.
2. Select the Log Files tab
3. Select all log files
4. In the blue box at the bottom of the page, select "Original" or "GPX file" in the "Select download format" section and click "Download Selected Logs".

This is likely to take a while if you have a lot of data to download, so consider doing it in batches.

Please email me if you have difficulties and sorry to see you go.

(P.s. is there a particular feature that's tipped the balance?)

Add pace histogram

Many people train using pace/km or pace/mile instead of speed. Also, it would be simpler to understand if the histograms were shown as bar charts
Response from the site administrator
tompaton, 31.08.2014
Good news: Pace is already available as an option. You set it per tag (so that you can use speed for bike rides and pace for runs, for example.)

Go to your "Run" tag, click "Edit" then choose "Pace" in the "Speed display format" section.

Also, that's a good suggestion re using bar-charts for the histograms, I'll consider it and see what I can do.

Unfortunately, the OpenStreetMap Cycle data is not available at all zoom levels so you probably just need to zoom out a bit to see it.
